Petrol price in Taraba hits N162 per liter

Following the increase in petrol pump price to N151 Naira per liter by the federal government, patrol stations in Jalingo the Taraba state capital have increased their pump price.

According to an investigation carried out by our correspondent in Jalingo, prices of liters of Petrol vary from one filling station to another in the state.

Our correspondent who visited some fuel Stations said most of them dispense the commodity between N161, N162, and N158 respectively.

Speaking on the development the Taraba state Acting chairman Taskforce on Petroleum distribution and sells Sadam Samaila, appealed to the federal government to introduce a price control board as it’s unhealthy to see people increasing their prices indiscriminately.

Sadam expressed worry over the constant increases in the prices of petroleum products.

The Acting chairman noted that the increment is affecting the people as the economy keeps becoming harsh and appealed to the federal government to consider the plight of people.

He called on Marketers not to increase the prices indiscriminately putting in mind the harsh economic atmosphere in the country.

Some of the commuters Magaji Ibrahim and Sunday David who spoke to our correspondent, in Jalingo lamented that they spent a lot to buy fuel saying they operate at lost.

They appealed to the federal government to review the prices as the common man in Nigeria is suffering.
